My flatmate's words when looking out the kitchen window. Gotta lock the balcony/terrace doors. They're pretty smart as well as cute so they can try to pry open the doors if they're not well shut. It's a constant battle to keep the animals out in India. Apparently there are some adorable baby puppies (7) in the downslope/green gutter area near the Shala but I haven't gone to check it out because I saw my first ever rat in Gokulam Friday morning scurrying across the street near the Shala heading toward a different gutter. The rat was so fat I remember thinking it could have been a puppy, but puppies don't scurry. Regardless, I try to stay away from the organic waste/veg & fruit remains rubbish gutters, which are basically for the cows, horses, goats and occasional pig family to eat out of. I just took a bucketful of mango peels and veggie scraps down now and there was a beautiful tan cow waiting to eat. The cow will have a special treat because there also were boiled Chinese herbs so hopefully the cow will also have any chi blockages corrected.
I just had chapatti-making class with my flatmate Rima. Hers were so much more perfect than mine, but they all tasted good with the 7 grain flour and coated in ghee.
I'm going to go pay a visit to Ratna and family now (if they're around, hopefully) but let me just say first that I'm still unprepared for the length of headstands (sirsasana) and half-bent headstands and uth pluthihi. My 3o count headstand came to about number 12 of Saraswati's 15 counts (and I took quite a few breaths in the posture before starting to count my breaths) and I couldn't even make it past count 7 of the halfbends and had to go down and go back up. I can't believe it!!!!! Need more practice!!! And my counting (at home in BCN) to 32 for Uth Pluthihi is also insufficient. I also could only make it to count 7 and had to go up again. Apparently I'll have to start counting to 100 to get there. This is such a head trip but there's no way around it. I'm going to have to start counting to a lot longer but I can't believe how difficult this is. Other than that, led class was fine. I know probably none of you care about this at all but it's pretty important to me. I'm going to have to start counting breaths at least until 50 this week. Crikey! I'm out.
